These messages are incredibly dear to me because I believe God placed them on my heart to share with the world. It is a true honor to be the vessel through which His Spirit speaks through poetry and writing.
What amazes me most is how God works. He took someone who never had any interest in writing and transformed them into a poet.
If I'm being completely honest, it's as though He turned on a faucet within my heart, and the words began to pour onto the page. My emotions, my thoughts, the beauty I notice around me, even the smallest moments of everyday life all became invitations to write. It's as if He awakened every sense I had, along with senses I never knew existed, making me so aware that even the slightest movement, feeling, or whisper of inspiration stirs something within me.
When that happens, I have to write.
It doesn't matter what I'm doing. I find myself reaching for the nearest piece of paper because the words won't let go. If I don't have anything to write on, they simply continue repeating in my mind until I can. And somehow, when I finally have the chance to write, they're still there, waiting to pour out exactly as they were meant to.
Before this, I never considered myself a writer. In fact, I believed writing simply wasn't who I was. Yet God had other plans.
Even now, I'm continually amazed by what sparks a poem. Most of the time, I have no idea what will be written when I begin. By the time I reach the bottom of the page, something has unfolded that I couldn't have planned myself. I simply feel an overwhelming urge to pour out what has been placed on my heart, trusting that the words becoming a poem are exactly what God intended someone, somewhere, to receive.

I believe my life has been a divinely appointed journey, one designed to plant love in the hearts of everyone I encounter.
Planted In Love was born from a calling to share God's unconditional love with the world. Through every season of my life, God has shown me that we are all souls seeking healing, and that true healing can only be found through His love.
My path has not been an easy one.
As a child growing up in the Jim Crow South, I lived through the pain of seeing "Whites Only" signs. I experienced the challenges of school desegregation and later encountered racism in the North. Eventually, I returned to the South, where I came to know God personally as a young man. It was there that words began to pour from my heart onto paper.
Life took unexpected turns, and I eventually drifted away from the church, leading to a season in prison. Yet even there, God never left me. It was during that time that I came to know Him again, this time with the wisdom and humility that only life's hardships can bring.
Today, I believe He was preparing me all along, teaching me what it truly means to love my neighbor, even when that neighbor feels like an enemy.
As I look back over my life, I can see His hand in every poem, every reflection, and every lesson. Those experiences have led me to create Planted In Love as a place to share His love with all people, freely and without conditions.
I am deeply grateful for the love and encouragement of my children, my family, and my close friends, who continue to walk this spiritual path alongside me.
Every product we create and every word we share is intentional. Our hope is to encourage compassion, inspire faith, and remind people that love has the power to reach beyond every difference, every background, and every belief.
Life is a continual journey of learning, growing, and becoming.
